With Korede, she’s silently depressed and it’s kinda depressing to see her that way. I believe she has OCD too, because she likes everything clean and organised. She lacks that acceptance and sense of belonging. She’s insecure with the her looks and she hates how the society treats and looks down at her. She is portrayed as the character who is inferior and has low self esteem. ![]() Korede feels a great need to protect her sister even though she secretly envies her sister’s beauty. This is where the theme of sisterhood emerge. Then, comes in the elder sister, Korede, whom basically covers up and cleans up her younger sister’s mess. So, from this point onwards, I knew she is just a lunatic, a psychopath with no remorse after killing her boyfriends. Her childhood experience has even led her to have trust issues with men and yes, she murdered the men she dates at one point into the relationship. This book also discusses on traumatic childhood experience of the sisters their father was abusive, hence had caused these girls to have daddy issues.įor Ayoola, the younger sister, it’s not just daddy issues that she faced. ![]() But as I went through some discussion with my friends over Instagram, I realised there is another theme being highlighted.
